Blue Jeans Go Green Community Service Initiative

The Texas FFA Association is excited to participate in Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program. Chapters are encouraged to bring any type of denim apparel item (at least 90% cotton or greater) to the Texas FFA Convention June 30 - July 4, 2025.

What type of denim can be recycled?

You can contribute any type of denim apparel item – jeans, jackets, shirts, skirts and more. It can be colored, embellished and/or printed. The denim can also be in any condition – ripped, stained and even scraps.

Does my denim need to be 100% cotton to be recycled?

We do accept blends. We just ask that the denim item(s) you’re recycling be high cotton content and contain at least 90% cotton.

How is the denim recycled?

Since denim is made mostly from cotton, a sustainable fiber, it can be broken down to its original state, recycled, and used to create something new. We give it new life—transforming it into housing insulation, pet beds, food packaging, and more. Learn more about the process at BlueJeansGoGreen.org.

Where can we drop off our donations?

Chapters are encouraged to bring contributions to the Texas FFA Convention in Fort Worth, Texas June 30 - July 4. Designated collection bins will be available in the exhibit all.
