Good morning,

Texas FFA STAR and Agriscience Fair Interviews have officially been canceled.

Regarding the Agriscience Fair, we will use the application scores to advance the winners to the National Level. Those results will be emailed later this week.  For those who can attend the convention, we strongly encourage you to bring your boards to the convention center. This will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase your work throughout the event. We will coordinate a virtual opportunity shortly for the National Qualifiers who want to participate in a practice interview. As most of you know, the deadline for states to submit results to the National FFA was July 1 and they extended the deadline so that Texas could conduct interviews.

For STARs, unless there are major changes to the forecast, we will recognize the 4 finalists as planned on the convention stage on Wednesday, July 10, during the 2nd General Session with the banquet to follow at 5 pm. We will work to coordinate virtual interviews for STAR finalists next week to determine the state winner. All information regarding these interviews will be shared after the convention wraps up.

We understand that this is not the outcome we all hoped for. We want to ensure you know that the decision to cancel was made with the utmost consideration for everyone's safety. We sincerely apologize that this decision was not made before this morning. We share your disappointment and apologize for the circumstances surrounding these events. We are heartbroken that students are not being allowed to interview and that judges are missing out on the interaction with our incredible members.

We appreciate your understanding and support during these challenging times. We hope that you all stay safe.
