Advisors,

The Texas FFA Convention Housing Block opened on Wednesday, January 22, at 4 PM, and we are actively working to fulfill reservations for those on the waitlist. I understand the housing process can sometimes be frustrating, and I appreciate your patience as we work through these challenges.

It’s important to note that the current system is designed to provide a streamlined and efficient experience. However, a significant issue we encounter is the high number of duplicate reservations made by chapters at multiple hotels. This practice reduces the availability of rooms within the block and complicates the process for everyone.

Schools booking at multiple hotels through the system have been or will soon be contacted and asked to make their final selections. Please release any additional rooms you know you will not need. Adjustments can still be made until the housing block closes. Schools holding blocks at multiple hotels will have the opportunity to release unneeded rooms over the next few days. Failure to release duplicate reservations will result in all of your reservations being removed from the block.

Where you choose to stay is entirely up to you and we realize you must make decisions that are best for your group. However, utilizing the housing block supports the overall convention infrastructure, which helps us maintain lower costs for registration.  As duplicate reservations are released and adjustments are made, more rooms will become available in the block. Please continue checking the housing website over the next several weeks for updates and consider using the block if at all possible.

Key Reminders:

  • Non-headquarters hotels: Reservations can be canceled or changed without penalty until May 7, 2025. After May 7, a charge of one night’s room and tax will apply for each room canceled.
  • Omni, Sheraton, and Hilton Downtown: Reservations become non-refundable after March 14, 2025. Any cancellations after this date will incur a charge of one night’s room and tax.
  • Modifications after booking: Through May 26, changes and cancellations can be made online using the link in your reservation acknowledgment, via email at help@orchid.events, or by calling 800-989-4008. After May 26, changes must be made directly with the hotel.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We are committed to making this process as smooth as possible for everyone, but it takes all of us working together to achieve that goal.
