Convention Safety

As the Texas FFA Convention continues to grow, we have identified strategies to address space limitations and enhance safety for all attendees. Again this year, we will offer an overflow room and a secondary Lone Star Stage on the second level.

In the past, it has been expected that all students attend every session. However, due to limited seating in the arena, please be prepared for the possibility that some of your students may need to utilize overflow spaces if seating is unavailable, or consider attending a workshop or local attraction with non-delegate members during sessions in which you do not have students being recognized.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities available throughout the week, including business and industry experiences, local attractions, the exhibit hall, and various convention workshops. While delegate attendance should remain a priority, we encourage you to plan accordingly and make the most of these additional experiences for your students.

As part of our continued focus on safety, we are working to implement some changes this year, including bringing in a different security team. Our goal is to create a safe and positive environment for everyone in attendance. While we are confident in the character of our members, we also recognize they are students and benefit from strong guidance and supervision.

We ask that you please speak with your students ahead of convention about expectations and ensure they understand the importance of respecting security personnel, ushers, and law enforcement, who are present to keep them safe. Your active supervision during the event is essential, and we encourage you to remain with your students whenever possible.

Ultimately, student safety is a shared responsibility. We will do everything we can on our end, and your partnership in providing close supervision will help ensure a safe and successful convention experience for all.
